Stephen J. Pitney & Associates Pty. Ltd. is a small firm of professional Quantity Surveyors, established in 1991. The practice has now celebrated 35 years in providing specialised expertise in the measuring and costing of building works and in providing construction cost advice to our clients.
As professional Quantity Surveyors, our firm has the expertise and qualifications to provide these services and our staff has extensive experience in most aspects of the industry and proven cost control techniques and skills.

- Registered Company Tax Agent No. 03666 008 with the Tax Practitioners Board for the purposes of preparing schedules of Tax allowances.
- Assessed by the Department of Planning and Housing in October 1992 and included on the register of “Approved Consultants“
- Our firm has developed a quality assurance system which is based on the requirements of Australian Standard AS 3902

About Stephen
Stephen Pitney, Director of S.J.P, is a professional Quantity Surveyor and a Chartered Builder.
He graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1980 and established the above firm in 1991. Prior to this time, he worked with a major quantity surveying firm and commercial building contractors.
Over the past 40 years he has been involved in a wide variety of significant projects and most aspects of quantity surveying during that period.
Expertise and Experience
In addition to ‘general’ services provided by quantity surveyors, Stephen has provided specialised cost advice on matter relating to reinstatement and rectification of damaged and defective buildings. The firm has been engaged by all of the major insurance companies in Australia as well as directly by owners.
His expert reports in quantifying construction costs have assisted in the resolution of many legal disputes.
